Help & FAQ

Little Masterpieces

Getting Started
How do I scan my first drawing?

Tap the Scan tab at the bottom of the screen. Your camera will open automatically using Apple's built-in document scanner.

  1. Hold your device over the drawing — it will be detected and highlighted automatically.
  2. Tap the shutter button (or let it capture automatically).
  3. Tap Save when you're happy with the scan.
  4. Give the drawing a name and choose a category, then tap Save again.

The drawing will appear in your collection straight away.

Can I scan multiple pages at once?

Yes. While in the scanner, keep tapping the shutter button to add more pages before tapping Save. All pages will be stored together as a single drawing entry.

In the drawing detail view, swipe left and right to browse between pages.

What categories are available?

You can assign each drawing one of five categories: Drawing, Painting, Craft, Schoolwork, or Other. You can filter your collection by category from the main screen.

Managing Drawings
How do I rename or edit a drawing?

Long-press (press and hold) the drawing's thumbnail in the main grid, then tap Edit. You can update the name, category, and view the image. Tap Save to confirm.

How do I delete a drawing?

Long-press the drawing's thumbnail and tap Delete. This permanently removes the drawing and all its images from your device. This action cannot be undone.

How do I share or print a drawing?

Open the drawing in full screen by tapping it, then tap the Share button. You can share the image via AirDrop, Messages, Mail, or any other app, and you can also print it wirelessly with AirPrint.

Can I crop a scanned image?

Yes. Open the drawing in the edit screen, tap on the image thumbnail, and use the crop tool to adjust the framing before saving.

Storage & Backup
Where are my drawings stored?

All drawings are saved locally on your device, inside the app's private storage. Nothing is uploaded to the cloud by Little Masterpieces itself.

Will my drawings be backed up?

If you have iCloud Backup enabled on your iPhone (Settings → [Your Name] → iCloud → iCloud Backup), your drawings are included automatically at no extra cost. They will be restored to a new device when you restore from a backup.

We strongly recommend keeping iCloud Backup enabled so you never lose your collection.

How much storage does the app use?

You can check the storage used by your drawings in the app's Settings tab, which shows the total number of drawings and the disk space they occupy.

Each scanned page is saved as a high-quality JPEG, typically 1–3 MB per page depending on the drawing size and detail.

What happens to my drawings if I delete the app?

Deleting the app permanently removes all drawings and data from your device. Make sure iCloud Backup (or an iTunes/Finder backup) is up to date before uninstalling if you want to keep your collection.

Premium
What's included in the free version?

The free version lets you get started and explore the app's core features. A limit applies to the number of drawings you can save without a premium plan.

What does premium unlock?

A premium plan removes the drawing limit, giving you unlimited storage for your collection. Premium is available as an annual subscription or a lifetime purchase.

How do I manage or cancel my subscription?

Go to iOS Settings → [Your Name] → Subscriptions. From there you can view, change, or cancel your Little Masterpieces subscription at any time.

Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period — you keep premium access until then.

How do I restore my purchase on a new device?

Open the app and go to the Settings tab, then tap Restore Purchases. Make sure you are signed into the same Apple ID you used when you originally purchased.

Can I get a refund?

Refunds are handled by Apple. Visit reportaproblem.apple.com and sign in with your Apple ID to request a refund for a purchase.

Privacy & Data
Does the app upload my children's drawings anywhere?

No. All images and data stay on your device. Little Masterpieces has no backend server and does not transmit any content you create. See our Privacy Policy for full details.

Why does the app need camera permission?

Camera access is required only for scanning drawings using Apple's document scanner. The camera is never activated in the background and is not used for any other purpose.
